11 Phrasal verbs
The fire went out — Огонь погас (в этом предложении имеется фразовый глагол go out: его смысл нельзя вычислить, зная значения слов go и out).
John went out — Джон вышел (в этом предложении нет фразовых глаголов: смысл сочетания went out можно вычислить, зная значения глагола go и наречия out).
2) Наиболее распространенными частицами, входящими в состав фразовых глаголов, являются слова about, across, along, around, away, back, by, down, forward, in, off, on, out, over, through, under, up. I put ON my hat — Я надела шляпу (частица on ударна, put on — фразовый глагол со значением "надевать").
He put the book on the table — Он положил книгу на стол (on — безударный предлог в составе предложной группы on the table - обстоятельства, относящегося к глаголу put в значении "класть").
His car has broken down — Его машина сломалась.
I put the meeting off till next week / I put off the meeting till next week — Я отложил собрание до следующей недели.
She brought the children up by herself / She brought up the children by herself —
She always stands up for her children — Она всегда защищает своих детей.
How can you put up with the noise? —
I'm looking forward to seeing you — Я с нетерпением жду встречи с тобой.
Can you fill in the form? Can you fill the form in?, Can you fill it in?. I will call on the writer next Monday — Я посещу писателя в следующий понедельник сочетание call on является комбинацией глагола call и предлога on. Дополнение не может идти перед предлогом, с которым оно сочетается, поэтому нельзя сказать * I will call the writer on / I will call him on. Turn the light on ( turn on — фразовый глагол), но нельзя сказать * Look the picture at ( look at — сочетание глагола с предлогом).б) Ниже приводится список фразовых глаголов группы 3б, то есть таких, которые могут разрываться дополнением:act out, add in, add on, add up, ask in, ask out, ask over, ask up, back up, beat up, bend back, bend up, bind down, bind off, bind over, bind up, block in, block off, block out, block up, bring about, bring off, bring out, bring up, carry out, carry through, clear away, clear off, clear out, clear up, cool down, cool off, cover up, cover over, deal out, divide up, draw back, draw down, draw in, draw off, draw out, draw up, dry off, dry out, drive in, drive off, drive out, eat away, eat up, factor out, figure out, find out, fish out, fish up, fit in, follow up, give away, give back, give in, give out, give over, give up, hand around, hand back, hand down, hand in, hand on, hand out, hand over, lead in, leave in, leave out, level down, level off, level out, line up, live down, live out, look over, look up, make out, make over, make up, mark down, mark off, mark up, move in, move out, paper over, point out, point up, pump in, pump off, pump out, pump up, read over, read in, read out, read off, read through, reason out, rule out, save up, send away, send back, send down, send forth, send out, show in, show off, show out, show around, show up, sleep off, slice away, slice open, slice off, slow down, slow up, smooth away, smooth back, smooth down, smooth off, smooth out, space out, split away, split off, split up, stop up, store up, strip away, strip off, switch off, switch on, take away, take along, take off, take out, take up, think out, think over, try on, try out, turn down, turn off, turn on, turn over, use up, wash away, wash down, wash off, weigh down, work off, work out, work over, work through, write down, write in, write off, write out, write up. -
12 business letter format
рис.)If your stationery includes a letterhead, skip this block. Type your name and address along with other relevant contact information such as e-mail or fax number. If your stationery includes a letterhead, type the date from 2 to 6 lines under the letterhead. Otherwise type it under the return address.Use this block to identify what the letter is in regards to. Examples are: "Re: Invoice 12345" or "Re: Your letter dated January 15, 2010.".Always in caps. Examples include SPECIAL DELIVERY, CERTIFIED MAIL, AIRMAIL, VIA FACSIMILE.Notation on private correspondence if needed such as PERSONAL or CONFIDENTIAL. This goes just above the recipient.Type the name and address of the person and / or company. If you are using an attention line (block 7) then skip the person's name. Address the envelope similarly.Type the name of the personType the recipient's name. Use Mr. or Ms. [Last Name] to show respect, but don't try to guess spelling or gender if you are not sure. Some common salutations are: "Dear [Full Name]:", "To Whom it May Concern:".Type a short description on what the letter is about. If you used a reference line, then you likely do not need a subject line.Type two spaces between sentences.Completing the LetterIt depends on the tone and degree of formality as to what you write here. Can vary from the very formal "Respectfully yours" to the typical "Sincerely" to the friendly "Cordially yours".Leave four blank lines after the Complimentary Close (block 11) to sign your name. Type your name and (optional) title under that signature. If someone else has typed the letter for you, it is common for them to indicate so with initials. Typically it is your initials in upper case followed by the other initials in lower case. For example "BCT/gt". If you typed your own letter, skip this block. If you are including other things with the letter such as brochures, this line tells the reader how many to expect. Common styles include "Enclosures: 3".If you are distributing copies of the letter to others, indicate so using a copies block. the code "cc:" used to indicate carbon copies but now is commonly called courtesy copies.Don't type the brackets. The brackets [ ] in the examples are for narrative purposes only.Try to keep your letters to one page.Use letterhead only for the first page. Just use a blank sheet of paper for continuation pages. You have some freedom in how many blank lines to use between blocks and in the margin sizes in order to fit a letter onto a single page. Not all letters need every block identified in this article. If you leave one out, do not leave blank lines where the blocks would have been.
